The App Development with Swift Certified User credential is for individuals who have a working knowledge of Swift, and who may have successfully completed the Associate level certification in Swift previously.
The App Development with Swift Certified User will validate an individual’s knowledge of core concepts and practices that professional Swift programmers use daily.
This certification is aligned with the Develop in Swift Explorations course made available for free from the Apple Book Store.
The coursework and certification cover:
- Planning, design, and theory
- How to navigate an app project
- How to build an app within iOS
- Swift language usage
- Debugging and troubleshooting

Step-by-Step Guide to Begin Credential
To prepare for this certification, review/complete the Develop in Swift Exploration course materials. These are free and available in the Apple Book Store.
Once prepared for the course, you’ll follow these steps to begin the certification:
- Review the certification outline
- Navigate to the Certiport site, review the course description and overview
- Locate a testing center to confirm availability near you
- Create a Certiport account as a “New User” on the Certiport site
- Note: The Certified User Exam is not listed on PearsonVue at this time
